About Aqemia
Aqemia is a next-generation pharmatech reinventing drug discovery with quantum-inspired physics and generative AI.
Our mission: design innovative small-molecule drug candidates for dozens of critical diseases, faster and smarter, without relying on experimental data.
Unlike traditional approaches, Aqemia starts drug discovery purely in silico. By combining physics-based models with large language models trained on proprietary data, we identify promising molecules with high accuracy before synthesis.
We’ve already delivered multiple preclinical successes and secured strategic partnership. Our internal pipeline is growing fast, with several programs in in vivo optimization.
We’re a team of 65+ based in Paris and London, we bring together chemists, physicists, engineers, and machine learning experts to push the boundaries of what’s possible in early-stage drug discovery.
The Role
As a Fullstack Software Engineer, you will play a central role in building user-facing products supporting drug hunters daily activities and accelerating Aqemia’s drug discovery programs.
You’ll work closely with chemoinformaticians, AI scientists, and product stakeholders to create reliable, scalable applications that bring complex data and algorithms into the hands of scientists and decision-makers.
This role sits at the core of Aqemia’s product engineering effort, blending technical excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and a product mindset.
What you’ll do
Design, develop, and maintain fullstack web applications powering Portfolio activitiesImplement intuitive user interfaces for internal scientific users (Vue.js or React)Build and maintain backend services in Python (FastAPI) with strong attention to performance and securityWork on the underlying PostgreSQL database, ensuring data integrity and optimized query performancCollaborate with chemoinformaticians and scientists to turn business needs into product featuresEnsure software quality, scalability, and testability through best practices (CI/CD, code reviews, testing)Contribute to improving our engineering culture, tools, and internal frameworksParticipate actively in agile rituals and iterative product deliveryWhat we’re looking for
4+ years of experience in fullstack software developmentStrong skills in Python (FastAPI or equivalent), SQL, and modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js or React)Experience with API design, frontend/backend integration, and user-centric designGood understanding of software architecture, security, testing, and deployment workflowsStrong collaboration and communication skills, able to interact with non-technical users and turn their needs into working productsTeam player with the ability to work autonomously while staying aligned with team objectivesPreferred mindset
